The pathway
Electrical advice first. Chargers second.
The first resident request can affect the wider building. The practical pathway depends on capacity, distribution, cable routes, metering and what happens when more residents want to charge.

Think ten chargers ahead
Your first EV charger is easy. Your tenth one is where the problem starts.
Send us the resident request and any reportsBefore the committee commits
Six things to understand before choosing an approach.

-
Existing setup
Understand the building’s electrical distribution and what is already available.
-
One charger or the whole building?
Separate an immediate resident request from the longer term building strategy.
-
Available capacity
Identify what needs to be checked before committing to a charging approach.
-
Parking + cable pathways
Consider how power could physically reach the relevant parking areas.
-
Billing + future residents
Think about metering, management and future demand.
-
Existing reports
Already have an EV ready or electrification assessment? Send it through and we can help turn it into practical next steps.
How it works
From the first request to a clear pathway.

-
Step 1: Send the building details
Plans, switchboard photos, resident requests or existing EV reports: whatever you have.
-
Step 2: We look at the building first
Capacity, distribution, cable routes, metering and future demand.
-
Step 3: Get a practical pathway
The immediate request kept separate from the longer term building strategy, set out so the committee can act on it.

Questions
Questions strata committees ask first.
Still have a question?
Call Kieran direct on 0415 343 050A resident has asked for a charger. Can we just approve it?
The first request can affect the wider building. It’s worth understanding the pathway (capacity, cable routes and metering) before that first approval sets the approach for every request that follows.
We already have an EV ready report. Is this still useful?
Yes. Send it through and we can help turn it into practical next steps.
Does every car space need a charger?
Not necessarily. The pathway separates today’s request from the longer term plan for the whole building.
How would charging be metered and billed?
Metering, management and future demand are part of the review, so the approach still works when more residents want to charge.
Can you work with our strata manager or committee?
Yes. We regularly coordinate with strata managers and facilities teams. We set out the options so they’re easy to take to a committee, and break larger work into stages that can be approved separately.
Is the review free?
Yes. The initial review is free, with no obligation.
How quickly will we hear back?
We reply within 1 business day.
